Lower Mills Branch Library (first) is established.

It is the outgrowth of a delivery station that was established in 1875. The library moves to the Blue Hills Bank building (second) at today’s 1110 Washington Street in 1883 and an addition is completed in 1936. It moves to its current site (third) at 27 Richmond Street in 1981.
